 DHA supplement really helps our two sons (ages 5 and 7)Oct 21, 2009

Our doctor recommended we add DHA to our 5-year-old son's diet to bolster his immune system and fight allergies. We first purchased Nordic Naturals-DHA Junior Omega-3 Supplement in August 2009 and started giving it to our 7-year-old son as well.
Not only have we seen improvement in their immunity but we also witnessed them calming down a bit. We learned that DHA is important for proper growth and development of the brain, eyes, nervous system and cell membranes.
Each son takes four soft gels daily with food, according to the suggested use. The chewable soft gels have a strawberry flavor. Neither of our sons has mentioned a "fish" taste and they continue to take the soft gels without complaint.
We purchased this along with Buddy Bear Probiotic from Amazon and have since reordered both supplements. The only complaint is that this product is not available through Amazon's Subscribe & Save program. Rating: Five stars.

I have never tasted those personally, but my five year old loves to chew them. The capsules are the size of a small pea. They have a strawberry smell. Well, I would expect them to taste like fish, because there is fish oil inside.. I am surprised with some reviewers giving them low rating just because of the taste. Here is some common sense: it's FISH OIL, and we take it because it's good for all of us. Forget about the taste for a second.

My son refuses to to take them-he said it makes him want to throw up. I tried it myself, its not that bad at all, it just does takes a little longer to chew the capsules. I give it three stars because the flavor is great.

Nordic naturals is known for purity and good quality control to assure no mercury content. This is great because this is the only brand and flavor of fish oil supplement we can get our daughter to take.
I also have a hard time with the huge size of the fish oil gel-caps for adults, and I just can't stomach the liquid, so I take these little ones too! They're chewable, which is how my daughter takes them, but I just swallow them like regular pills.
The added advantage I've noticed is that you don't end up with the odd fishy taste or burpiness that is associated with many other fish oil supplement brands.
Great for both kids and adults!

Our family Doctor put my son on these. He has been diagnosed with a learning disorder and also has food allergies. The DHA is to help with the brain function to boost his learning ability. I will be buying them from here from now on since it is half the price for the same bottle count. Awesome price!
