5Great ProductFeb 11, 2010
By Felipe D. Mardakis "Hoi Polloi"
For the first few days, I was trying incredibly hard to tolerate the terrible taste of this product, but after a few days, I felt incredible. Not only did it regulate my system, it also made me feel more energetic. You do have to stick to the instructions given on each packet, and it was very rewarding to do so. Though the taste may be horrid, it is a completely natural product. I recommend this to anyone looking for a natural cleanser.

5Happy with my resultsDec 01, 2010
By Eric M Beavers
I purchased this product at a local raw food store for $30.

Demographic: Male, late 20s, career frequent business traveler, foodie

I was skeptical, but like to try before I judge. I chose to try this because I have been having heartburn and minor constipation for a few months. I really don't trust other products because of the chemicals they contain. This one, when you review the ingredients, is simply a massive dose of fiber, vegan style.

My process started on a Sunday and I stuck with it perfectly for all 7 days. It is vitally important that you drink enough water. I have a 16fl oz. water bottle that I drank 5+ times a day (2 of which were the end of the day drink mix).

I agree with other posters that the flavor is not the best. The morning packet (phase 1) tastes like dough. The end of the day drink is like a bitter strong tea (made me think of Matte which I like). I found that spreading it out over two doses (22oz worth of water) in succession from my water bottle worked well for me. If your normal eating habits are primarily tasty comfort foods (high fat, high sugar) then you will suffer. As a world traveler, I have survived much more "challenging" foods. By day 3 or 4 I was starting to enjoy the taste. The results, in my opinion, were worth the effort.

This is not like a laxative. My visits to the restroom were delightfully regular (except for an obvious result of passing a large amount of fiber). The sense of urgency was what I normally feel, but after a month of constipation quite welcome because I could actually produce results!

Results (2 weeks later):

I feel awesome. The only time in my life I have ever felt this good (digestively) was when I went vegetarian for 40 days. My digestive discomfort is gone (untill I make bad choices again). During the cleanse I did not lose any weight, nor did I expect to. Due to a weight lifting and running regimen I maintained my weight. I did try to avoid caffeine, dairy, and wheat products but otherwise ate as I usually do.

I weighed in today and have lost a few pounds. I think, with my ever-changing eating habits(on the road, no meal plan), this provided a nice balance. I plan to do this on a once-a-month to quarterly basis.

4Taste isn't that badOct 10, 2010
By L. Ching
I read the reviews and was very apprehensive when night time came and I had to mix the fiber cleanse drink, but was pleasantly surprised when I opened the product and smelt it, it wasn't so bad. I mixed it with water and chugged it down without much issue other than the back-of-throat slightly sour taste which I think comes from the wheatgrass or barley green, . Perhaps I'm in Asia and we're used to drinking bitter and herbal drinks, but it honestly tasted quite pleasant, reminding me a bit of a powdered soya milk drink I had before that couldn't mix completely and so had gritty bits. My kids also had a taste and the older one said it was ok while the younger one said it was a bit like melted ice cream....! It's only day 1 so I can't say much about the effects yet but I wanted to "redeem" the bad reviews abt the taste. All in the taste buds of the individual, I guess!

Ok to update, I've just completed the program and I must say that I feel totally great! My effects seem to be rather similar to that of another august reviewer. 1st 2 days I felt lightheaded and slightly giddy, and was also constipated. The toxic load must've been overwhelming.. after that the back hurt a little. By 5th day all was clear and was starting to feel very light and free and great! I think there must have been so much toxin being released, I'm glad Raw cleanse captured them and washed them out of the system. I'd do it again couple mths later.

I also kept to a highly raw diet - mostly salads, though I did consume whole grain rice or pasta, and some fish/meat but tried to keep to a minimum. As a mom of 2 kids, it's hard just to cook for the kids! And drank tons of water, to flush it all out.

This has motivated me to keep to a highly raw diet, and to improve my (and family)'s eating habits. Who knew so much toxin would've been in us?!!

4Garden of Life RawAug 15, 2010

I am on day 6 of Garden of Life Raw and so far I think this is a great cleanse.
First, it is a mild cleanse so you will not find yourself running to the bathroom at inopportune times- you will however find that you are more regular. I have read some of the negative comments and I will say that, yes, the nighttime supplement is vile- it tastes awful but it is easily sucked down in a minute, sip some water or tea afterwards and it is over.
You will not feel great right away- this is a detox, toxins are trapped in your organs and fat and as the fatbreaks down and your organs are cleansed you might feel worse before you feel better. Day 1 and 2 I felt very sluggish and spacey. Day 3 and 4 my back (kidneys) and legs hurt very badly, my legs broke out and itched miserably- it did not feel good but it was a good sign the cleanse was working. By day 5 I was more clear headed and today I am feeling energetic, very clear headed and my skin is clear. My husband noticed that my belly is flatter and I do not feel so heavy in the gut as I do on an almost normal basis. I am keeping to a sugar and grain free diet while on the cleanse. It is also important to drink lots of water and exercise to help flush out the released toxins faster.

5Valuable scientifically-based advice on how to swallow step #3Mar 20, 2011
By jlo5616
I have not had any real negative side effects and I managed to get my weight back down to my usual after a visit back East (-5lbs). Before the cleanse I was a strict vegan and ate mostly organic so that may be why I'm not in any pain with this cleanse! During the cleanse I tried to be a little more restrictive - 100% organic foods, more water (distilled) and more raw foods. I noticed my skin feels softer and I just generally feel better.

Like other reviewers, I found parts of this cleanse kit nearly unbearable. The after meal capsules are fine, piece of cake. The morning packet is unpleasant - you pour this powder straight into your mouth and swish it around with water. It clumps and sticks to the roof of your mouth, and it doesn't taste great but it's tolerable. The last step is the worst, a green powder you mix with "at least" 12 ounces of water and chug. I read other reviews prior to buying, and they all said this third step tastes like vomit. I assumed they were being babies - the ingredients were all things I've had individually before such as grass juices, chia and flax. Well, I can verify that as other reviewers have stated, this drink literally tastes like straight up vomit. Let me put it this way... the Harry Potter vomit-flavored jelly bean tastes GREAT compared to this drink. It is VERY hard to get down as it is pungent and acidic. After much trial and error, I figured out how to get it down. First have a glass of room temperature water on hand as well as some papaya enzyme tablets (I have GNC brand) or fruit flavored tums. Next mix 1 tsp baking soda with the mix and COLD water, trying to mix as best as possible as any chunks will just further repulse you. Hold your nose from beginning to end and drink as fast as you are comfortable, and don't let go of that nose! After finishing the drink and while still holding your nose, drink the room temperature water and swish it around before you swallow. Still holding your nose, finish it off with two papaya enzyme tablets or fruit Tums. Unplug your nose and you should have absolutely no aftertaste - just fruity papaya enzyme or Tums! It worked perfectly for me, and I can't tell you how happy I am about that. The baking soda and papaya/Tums are basic (high pH) which counteract the acidity of this horrific drink hence removing the "vomit" taste. Please respond to this review if this worked for you!
